Technology may have advanced rapidly over the years I've been online but human minds are still the same. So many of the physiological things I learned way back in college (many moons ago) in Advertising 101 - still pertains whether advertising on or offline.

No matter what you are selling, air, water, or acreage on Mars, you still need to sell in order to make any money. And in order to sell, people who want or need your product still need to be made aware of you if you want them to look at what you are selling.

Advertising is all about getting your name, your product or service in front of those 'right' people - so ask yourself where do those people hang out both on and offline and get your message out in front of them - where they can easily find it. (sounds easy - but of course it's like a challenging game to find the best spots)

I agree. The tools have changed but the fundamentals remain the same. As long as you know how to reach you or customers and you know how to treat them when you do finally acquire them then the tools can evolve into anything and you'd still know what to do.

I couldn't agree more. I'll give my previous client as an example as he pretty much didn't why he didn't earn much from one of his products. You see, his company sells exam reviewers but is relatively new to a particular field. He was in a hurry to topple his competitors SEO-wise without considering how much time and effort were actually needed. I did email outreach for him and we got a lot of replies from interested universities. Two of them even requested for a speaker. My ex-client declined both opportunities saying he had no time to deal with such requests since he's busy focusing on a different field. Ending... his books didn't sell as much as he had hoped. He thought SEO and online advertisements were enough when in the first place they weren't. Imagine how many books he would have sold had he visited those universities and promoted the books he wrote.
