Now that I have your attention, this article is designed to inform and protect anyone who hosts or owns a website. Google re-launched Panda today; it will be a surprise when Penguin is released into the internet wilderness to detect low content and spam. Is your website protected?

You've explained Google Penguin and Panda very simply and the general overall tips given are great. If site owners stuck to those simple tips, there shouldn't be any worries.

I can understand why Google or any other search engine would implement these programs, there is some crap out there. People set up sites full of advertising rubbish, stolen or gibberish content, getting rid of that will give some space for the good stuff.

    Good article, thanks

People also spam forums with useless posts, or posts that bear very little bearing to the content of the website in order to get keywords within on that page for their signature link...

I wonder how long it will be before Google find a way to screw over those who link spam.

    Good point Mike,

as it's not the actual site owners but their members screwing them if forums were to be put under attack. But then surely one would think, that forums and the such would be put under a special category when the search engines run their scans. I don't know, I'm not up-to-date on the exact workings of these programs.

I suppose one has to take a no scruples attitude with those members and their posts

Hey guys thanks for the feedback and added input on the articles, I appreciate it. Personally, I will be glad to see forum spammers get a good screwing and all the India Based SEO companies that use spun content will be next on the chopping block. Although sad for the businesses that use them, this is great news for SEO companies like mine that really use hand written, unique content to get rankings.

Unique content is the best for Search Engine Optimisation. I was reading a blog the other day that was purely "spun" content. Only bit's and pieces made sense.

Traffic and it's sources also affect PageRank... Did you know that? :D

Thanks for sharing such helpful ideas! It was explained that Google penguin will decrease rankings for sites that are violating Google’s existing quality guidelines and promote high quality content.

I put an article into one of these article spinners once and blimey what came out, it looked as if it had been badly translated from another language. All it did was change a few words which put the sentences out of context and as you've said very little then made any sense. I didn't publish it of course, had no intentions of doing so, just wanted to see for myself 'how great' these article spinners are suppose to be.

And yes, I did know that traffic & sources affect PageRanking, thanks;)

nice article Proz. I agree, taking the time to build-up doing it right. You want to make a fast buck, you're more likely to make just as quickly an exit.

It's like wanting to lose weight and doing a crash diet, you may rid the pounds alright only to put them back on, and them-some, leaving yourself having to start again and again ... or giving up completely

    Thanks

    You're welcome.
You need to check the google+ link on your sidebar, it goes nowhere, looks as if the google id number is in the link twice.
