What is the difference between keywords and meta tags?

    Hello,

    I want to ask one question.

    What is the difference between keywords and meta tags ?

    Keywords are one of your meta tags Cole. If you go to a website go to view source (or page source). This the HTML. should look like this.

    <meta name="keywords" content="your keywords, keywords, all keywords, key phrases"> something like that.

    There should also be one for description, robots etc.

    Keyword is the Word or text which represent your website's link.While Meta description is the short but whole story for your website.

    Keywords are the main descriptive words that are contained in your html code of your website.
    These keywords describe the subject of what your website is about.
    Ex. if you are selling apples online then "apple" is a keyword!

    meta tags are the html code that the search engine spiders read to learn what your website is all about.
    These meta tags are not visible on your website, only visible to the search engine spiders.
    And yes there is a meta tag for keywords--this meta tag will contain all the main descriptive words and applicable phrases contained
    in the articles on your website.
    If you want an example then go to my site internetmarketingpro.me and put your cursor (mouse) onto a blanc space and then do a right clic,,
    a box will open up--choose "View Page Source"
    A new window will open and the html code for the site will appear.
    You will see all the different meta tags right at the beginning of the document.
    I design and code all my own websites.

    Keyword and meta tag both are different.Meta tag is used for discription for html document.

    I agree with Your Reply, Jacoblin. The Meta tags are Keywords Provided in the Website Codes only for the Use of Web Crawlers.

    META tags were originally used in the <HEAD> tag of an HTML document to help search engines find your site. Within a META tag, you can define two variables: description and keywords.The description is used to describe the content of your website while keywords are a list of terms, separated by commas that highlight important information in your page.

    keywords, description, title All connected together are called keywords,keywords can be a phrase that a user can use for Searching in a search engine.Keywords are
    essential for meta tags since description & title target the keywords while listed in search results.
