I first heard of Bitcoin back in the day when they were worthless, I was like "Hey, let me invest in some" I litteraly bought 20 bitcoin when they were like at 3 dollars each (60$ total), I completely forgot about it until i saw on the news that they were at 300 and rising. I sold all of them for like 250 each, I made a nice profit. I never used them again after. Has anyone had the same experience?

I know bitcoin is still being used in some places internationally in hopes that if the dollar does devalue bitcoin will be able to replace the currency in different countries.

There are already some Bitcoin ATMs and companies that accept it for payment, so I think it will be used more in future.

The advantage of Bitcoin is that it's not linked to any currency markets so it can be used internationally without any exchange rate issues or fees. The disadvantage is that the value of Bitcoin is variable and can go down or up at any time. I know it shot up in value from the early days, but as an investment it is risky now as the value could drop.

The Bitcoin mania is all so new to me. While working on a freelance gig, I came across the "bitcoin" word so many times. I researched about it only to found out that it's some sort of alternative currency or payment network - something like PayPal but not quite. There are subtle differences between the two, though. PayPal functions as a third party money transfer device and pseudo-online bank, while Bitcoin acts like "online money."

I still gather a few thousand satoshis every day from a variety of places, but I'm not using them as money at the moment - I fund my own faucet with them, which converts them back into "real" money.

The biggest downside of Bitcoin in my opinion - apart from not being a fiat currency - is that everyone's trying to regulate it with wallets and accounts and all the usual crap that banks do. The whole point of it was to have a currency that is anonymous, in your own pocket, and NOT taxable, trackable or otherwise like other money. That's what makes it awesome. The way it's being turned into an "alternative bank account" destroys its purpose - it's turning into PayPal in a different form. :(

I collect satoshis from various faucets. I know it's value now and I am late in the Bitcoin hype. I should have started with it earlier. Anyway, I have not used it as a source of income. Since I am late, I am collecting it for fun. More and more places are accepting bitcoins though.

Since it is a cryptocurrency, people are using it in the Dark Web. Just to add this in.

I have heard Bitcoin before from a local tv news channel. It explains what a bitcoin andfor what purpose it was made. However at first I thought it was just another online scam but I was wrong. Bitcoin has a great potential to be the new currency in the future.

I come to know about bitcoin through media. I am still wondering it has same value that it had few months ago. I would like to do some research before buying the bitcoins I think it might be a good investment. But it will take time now to reap profits

The client I work for accepts payments in Bitcoins. I believe Bitcoins have a bright future, considering that more and more countries are allowing doing business using them.
