    Just a reminder HTML (Hyper Text Markup Language) is not a programming language . People often confuse markup language with a programing code.

    A markup language is a language that annotates text so that the computer can manipulate the text. Most markup languages are human readable because the annotations are written in a way to distinguish them from the text. For example, with HTML, XML, and XHTML, the markup tags are < and >. Any text that appears within one of those characters is considered part of the markup language and not part of the annotated text. For example
    <p>
    this is a paragraph of text written in HTML
    </p>

    A markup language is a computer language that uses tags to define elements within a document. It is human-readable, meaning markup files contain standard words, rather than typical programming syntax. While several markup languages exist, the two most popular are HTML and XML.
