There has been an increase with people starting their own online businesses. Why do you think there is a huge increase in entrepreneurship, especially in the online market? I think this is a good sign. People are getting self-employed and our economy will prosper. I think everywhere, people are trying to setup their own business even moms too. This is really good but yet we need to think why this is happening so fast. In my opinion, it's all about being in control of your income and the internet offers so many vast sources to generate massive income if one has a great a idea, an in demand product, coupled with great promotion. What are your thoughts?

I think it's a combination of work and life balance and taking control of your life. You can work as hard as you want or as little. Too many people are in jobs they dislike or in fear of being laid off, juggling families with part-time work hours and the internet has allowed people to work online or from home.

Jobs are not for life, companies go under and then there is the commute times. Many people I know choose the option because they cannot find a job they like or they create a job because there are none in their area. Being your own boss means you are responsible for your earnings and what you produce each day and not waiting for the clock to hit 6 p.m. or dreading the morning commute.

What's great about setting up an online business is that you don't need to worry yourself about taxes. Also, with online business, there's not much capital involved. Furthermore, you have the leeway to set up your own system or deal with your clients as you see fit.

I think it's great so many people have the option to be self-employed with work found on the Internet. I know these people are hustlers and work hard to find those clients and income! The thing that makes me nervous looking at doing the same thing is the lack of stability and knowing how fast fads can change. I'm an expert at social media but then Facebook turns to all paid...now what? I have to totally change my game plan and charge clients more than they were expecting. The next big social site comes out tomorrow and my client's name is taken by someone before I grab it. So many unknown factors that generally don't come up with a salaried job. But to those who do it, so much respect! Would love to know your main challenges and rewards. Best of luck!

People are flocking to the online market because it's a new opportunity and also because it is way easier than having to tough it out physically. If you owned a physical store you'd have to worry about rent, electricity costs and maintenance, but with the online market all you'd really need is a computer. That's not to say that competing online is any easier,, though. It is just as tough to gain success and recognition online if not tougher, but at least you don't have to waste much physical energy or stress to do so.

I don't think that's true. It will depend on where you live but I'm pretty sure you have to pay your taxes just as you would do having any other job.

That's something I don't like about any guide I've read on how to make money online. None of them talks about taxes and I'm pretty sure it's something that does need attention.

I think think it has do with how easy it is to start a business. Before social media and other platforms, a person looking to start a business online would have to know code to start their website but now we have things like Word press and blogger where you can start your business for free, and in seconds. Slap on a few ads and take a seo course and you're on your way to success.

Due to past and current economy obstacles and hurdles, many people are beginning to realize that, contrary to what they once thought, they are dispensable. With that knowledge, people are striding to take control and rely on themselves. Operating a business requires work, but with the ultimate pursuit and goal of financial freedom and job security, the risk is minimal compared to potential result. Also, with all the tools that we have access to, starting your on business is more feasible now than I believe it has been in a while.

People are moving to self employment because the overall job market is so weak. There are a lot of of people looking for work, and not enough jobs to supply that demand. Thus, those that are left behind are left to find any work they can, including online work. In addition to that wage stagnation has left people looking for other ways to generate extra income. Online work and self employment are two of the easiest ways to do that.

I enjoy being self employed because of the freedom of being able to work where I want when I want for however long I want. I have an extremely busy schedule with all my other responsibilities and it's great to know that one day I can work just an hour then the next day work 8 hours.

I am self employed. I work as an online freelance writer but also dabble in several other areas that make me money online. This is definitely an industry that proves that you will get out of something what you put into it. There are definitely working methods out there you just have to be diligent and keep working at it.

Thanks to the Internet, it's possible for anyone to create a business for themselves. Most home businesses that were shopped around before were scams and pyramid schemes, but now anyone can have their own legit business without a huge investment.

While the collapse of the economy has been a net negative, it's been a pretty exciting time for entrepreneurs and people like myself who work online. Since the economic collapse in 2008, and the slow recovery that followed people have had to find unique ways to make cash. Self employment is challenging but can also be quite rewarding.

I also have seen a huge increase in the amount of people starting their own businesses. A few years ago I tried to make a sell a few different styled bracelets on Ebay. It was good but I just got bored with it but I had great success while I did it. I think it is a great thing and more stay at home moms should look into these mini businesses because they can be at home with their little ones while making a bit of pocket change on the side!
