If you want to use wordpress you could do it yourself. Most basic hosting accounts including ours) come with a one click wordpress install. You can probably also find open source software for a directory and it's pretty easy to install. It would be cheaper than paying a designer to design a custom site for you. All you really need is a domain name and a hosting account.
