One strategy on building a social bookmarking list is to review a social sharing button like "AddThis". This button supports over 300 social networks. You can often look through the list and find a lot of leads or ideas. Google social / business apps section is another good research treasure trove. If you let us know what exactly you will be using the social bookmarks for we could probably give some really good specific sites to look at also based on your project goals.

I would like to suggest to not to go for too many bookmarking sites. Get quality backlinks using some other strategies like Infographics, Photo sharing, Document sharing etc.
