You do not want random people coming in and leaving as quickly. If too much traffic comes to your site and bounces off again about three seconds after landing on it, search engines will know and your site will not be ranked very high. You can check this on your analytics and it will show you there the 'bounce' rate.

If this is too high, you need to concentrate more on targeted traffic, this is where using keywords in your meta/tags relevant to your site are important. And advertising within the correct categories/niche. And of course, the information/products on your site is useful to the visitors.
